About Suzana

Suzana Pires is an award winning actress, writer, executive producer, and entrepreneur from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Suzana's decorated career as an actress spans three decades, as she has starred in dozens of films, TV series, and plays. She is the first Brazilian writer to attend and graduate from the prestigious Sundance Directors Lab, and went on to break the nation's gender barrier by becoming the first lead actress turned head writer and showrunner. Beyond her acclaimed film and tv work, Suzana is widely known in Brazil as an author and entrepreneur, furthering the message of women's empowerment through her institute and book "Dona De Si."

Most recently Suzana has transitioned from Brazil to Los Angeles, where she has begun developing TV and Film for the broader international market like AVALLON STUDIOS, MERMAID STUDIOS AND AMAZON US, while continuing to advocate for the issues that face her native country. In 2023, she launched her book UNLEASHED in the US market.

Self Empowered Woman Institute - Instituto Dona De Si DONADESI is a global lifestyle brand and media company.  Founded by Suzana Pires, DONADESI is derived from the Portuguese  phrase Dona De Si "Her Own Woman" her non for profit institute and self authored book designed to empower the women of Brazil.

While DONADESI will make film, tv consumer product goods and tell international, border crossing stories, a portion of all of the revenue will always go back to Suzana's institute and non for profit mission in brazil.

The issue of feminism and female empowerment in brazil (socially and in business) is roughly 20 years behind most first world countries, and it is Suzana's goal to continue to advocate for these issues and bring greater widespread awareness to them through her global brand and locally grown institute.
